VariTech Industries
A Subsidiary of FORCE America Inc.
VariTech Industries was established in 1994 in Garfield Minnesota. The employees of VariTech Industries developed a product for the production of salt-brine solution, salt brine being a liquid used for ice and snow control on paved surfaces. This product, the SB600 brine-maker, set the standard for the industry and was the main product offering for VariTech Industries. VariTech Industries marketed the SB600 brine-maker through direct sales and the Internet to a national and international market. The popularity of salt-brine production and the popularity of the SB600 brine-maker spawned many copies over the years, but VariTech’s patented SB600 brine-maker technology has never been matched.
FORCE America Inc. acquired VariTech Industries in March of 2000 as another step in the ongoing effort of “Setting the New Standard” to be the most complete supplier to the Snow & Ice Control market. VariTech Industries as a subsidiary of FORCE America now has a compete offering of salt-brine production and support systems; Poly and Stainless Brine-Makers, Single-wall and Double-wall Storage Systems and Transfer-Stations. The industries most innovative product in the salt-brine production area is the Insulated Shelter for the SB600. In addition, VariTech Industries has the most complete line of truck-mounted Pre-wet and Anti-Icing Systems in the industry. The innovative Low-Profile 1850 Gallon Anti-Icer was designed from the bottom-up at VariTech to meet the needs of a municipal user. The Low-Profile 1850 system is designed to properly load every axle on a municipal truck to improve safety and performance to a level that no elliptical agricultural tank system can match. The Low-Profile 1850 Anti-Ice systems, available exclusively from VariTech Industries, have no equal in the industry and truly “Set the new Standard”.
VariTech continues to operate out of the same modern facility in Garfield Minnesota. The Garfield/Alexandria area offers a good base for VariTech’s manufacturing operations. The area has a stable work force and the legendary “Good Life in Minnesota” that comes with proximity to outlets for sports like hunting, fishing and snowmobile trails. Most importantly, Alexandria is home for “Alexandria Technical College” one of many technical colleges in the Minnesota state college system. Alexandria Technical has many alumni of their Fluid-Power Technology and Manufacturing Technology courses working at FORCE America and VariTech Industries. The commitment to these young stars in the industry is further proof that VariTech Industries is “The Leader in the New Ice Age.”
